Since the aLuMNi was launched in 2007 to celebrate our 30th Anniversary we have renewed contact with many of the wonderful
musicians who have worked with us over the past 30 years.
More recently the aLuMNi Fund was launched at a sell-out concert on 22nd February 2010 at the Forge. The evening was an aLuMNi initiative thanks to Kosmos and Milos Milivojevic as well as The Forge: Adam and Charlotte Caird's exciting new venue in Camden.
The purpose of this fund is to enable musicians who have benefited from their time on the scheme to support the continuation of our work and extend the benefits to the next generation of young, gifted musicians entering the profession. We know that we will miss the talents of those who are leaving, and who have developed their skills to the point that they can work in the most challenging settings and bring the benefits of live music to a wide range of groups in the community.
Thanks to the aLuMNi we are now able to draw on that extensive pool of musicians in a more concerted way, and we are delighted to find that they want to remain part of LMN.
Here are some of the ways in which aLuMNi are already becoming involved:
- Signing up to receive regular information about LMN and spreading the word about the work that our musicians do;
- Offering services as an experienced musician on an audition panel;
- Running a masterclass for LMN musicians - on performance technique or another specialist area;
- Acting as a mentor to a current musician or ensemble - helping to develop presentation or programming skills;
- Supporting our fundraising - running a marathon, holding a concert, performing at an LMN fundraising event.
In these particularly challenging times we are encouraging our aLuMNi to pledge their support in a variety of ways. If you are a former LMN musician and wish to pledge your support please click here.
If you wish to make a donation please click here.
If you would like to get back in touch with LMN, whether or not you want to get involved actively again, we would love to hear from you and catch up with your news and current career.
