Our live audition process ensures that we maintain the highest standards of delivery.
Audition days are held throughout the UK. Any young musician in the early stages of their performing career and resident in the UK and Ireland may apply. Click here to see our Audition Calendar of forthcoming dates.
Musicians are eligible to remain as members of LMN until they reach the age of 27 (instrumentalists) and 30 (singers). Musicians should therefore ideally be at least 2 years younger than this when they join the scheme. Duos and ensembles should use their average age. Exceptions may be considered for musicians whose performing career is delayed for certain reasons
• musicians from a tradition whose training/musical development follows a different path and time scale to the Western classical tradition;
• musicians whose recent move to this country has interrupted the start of their performing career;
• groups with an older 'mentor' figure whose role is key to the music's tradition.
At the auditions musicians are assessed by a panel of distinguished musicians and guest experts in a wide range of musical fields. Their understanding of the scheme's requirements ensures that the highest standards are maintained. They will be looking for
• a very high standard of musicianship;
• a varied and suitable choice of music;
• good presentation skills and evidence of an ability to establish a rapport with an audience;
• a commitment to the aims of Live Music Now.
In order to cover our costs, LMN charges a modest fee per musician, at the time of audition.

If you wish to audition for LMN, please complete and submit the Log Your Interest form and you will be sent an information pack within 10 working days. (The closing date for receipt of applications is 6 weeks before the audition).
