Live Music Now at the Ryedale Festival

If ever proof were needed that rural North Yorkshire is far from being a cultural backwater, the impact of Live Music Now on the line up for this year's Ryedale Festival would provide it. LMN Yorkshire is one of the busiest branches of Live Music Now, and last year alone gave over 600 performances and workshops for more than 22,000 people. Audience members aged from 0 to over 100 years old participated in performances by folk, jazz, world and classical musicians. Live Music Now in Salzburg 26 - 28 May 2010 Building on links made through Live Music Now's International Development programme, saxophone ensemble Lunar Saxophone Quartet made the first visit of LMN UK musicians to LMN Salzburg in late May. LMN musicians return to Abu Dhabi

Live Music Now musicians have just returned from delivering a second successful programme of workshops for children with special needs, as part of the Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Festival 2010. Projects took place at the ZHO Abu Dhabi Autism Centre, Mafraq, delivered by Lenny Sayers (clarinet) and the Sollertinsky Piano Trio; and at the Special Care Centre, Abu Dhabi, delivered by Melissa Doecke (flute), Dimitris Dekavallas (guitar) and the Meridian Percussion Duo. Mavron String Quartet are appointed 'Ensemble in Residence' at St David’s Hall, Cardiff

Cllr. Nigel Howells of Cardiff County Council formally announced on Tuesday 9th March that the Mavron Quartet was to be the 'Ensemble in Residence' at St David's Hall, the National Concert Hall of Wales. LMN Wales has enjoyed a long partnership with St David's Hall and scores of our musicians have performed at lunchtime concerts at the Hall over the last 20 years and at the Welsh Proms. LMN Musicians bring Quality of Life to people living with dementia

Live Music Now South West has teamed up with Reminiscence Learning and Abbeyfield to deliver a groundbreaking new project to older people in Somerset. The Quality of Life project aims to look at new ways of using music as a way to improve the lives of those with dementia. 'Sherlock Violin' Project

Live Music Now Scotland is launching a project for children at Edinburgh's Dunedin School with a free concert featuring the 'Sherlock Violin' at the National Gallery on Thursday, 17 December 2009. This year marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of Holmes' creator Sir Arthur Conan Doyle as well as the formation of the National Galleries of Scotland. The 'Sherlock Violin' was made by Steve Burnett from the wood of a diseased sycamore tree in the garden of Liberton Bank House where Conan Doyle grew up, now home to the Dunedin School for secondary school children who don't fit into...
