Live Music Now Scotland covers all of Scotland and has given performances in venues throughout the country from the Shetland Isles in the north to Dumfries and Galloway in the south. Over 60 of Scotland's top young musicians, covering both classical and traditional styles, are part of Live Music Now Scotland and as well as venues typical of LMN throughout the UK, they also perform in rural, remote and island areas where access to live music is limited by location. Live Music Now Scotland enjoys unique partnerships with the National Museums and National Galleries of Scotland which provide musicians with valuable education and outreach opportunities.
Major projects for 2008 include working with young offenders in three institutions, an intensive workshop project leading to a cd launch for primary age children with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties and a composition project with children with hearing impairment at the newly purpose-built Donaldson's College in Linlithgow.
Future plans include working in closer partnerships with local authorities, which will be made possible by the recent award of Flexible Funding from the Scottish Arts Council for 2009 - 11.
Live Music Now Scotland's Director is the lead officer for LMN International Development.
