LMN Yorkshire & Lincolnshire covers both these counties, from the North York Moors to the Lincolnshire Fens, and the East Coast to the Pennines. Situated half way between London and Scotland, LMN Yorkshire & Lincolnshire is able to draw on the pools of musicians based in these centres enabling the branch to cater for all our audiences' musical tastes. The branch provides around 600 participatory performances and workshops each year across a broad range of venues.
Since 2006 LMN Yorkshire & Lincolnshire has been working in partnership with the North Yorkshire Library and Information Service to develop a range of unique projects incorporating music and literature. The Musical Storytimes project provides early years groups access to live music in their local library.
Future plans include the development of partnerships with prisons and young offenders institutes in Yorkshire, the devlopment of a long term artists in residence programme introducing pupils in two North Yorkshire special schools to Traditional Scottish Folk music and a new working partnership with SoundLincs to provide young people with special educational needs in Lincolnshire with regular access to live performances. We are also continuing are work with older people in partnership with Age Concern venues in Calderdale, Kirklees and Sheffield.
