LMN England: North West (North West, West Midlands & Oxfordshire)
LMN England: North West reaches communities from the Lake District to the industrial conurbations of Manchester and Birmingham, encompassing almost a quarter of England's population. The branch covers around 24% of the English population with activity spread throughout the region.
We run a range of interactive projects and over the years have built up a strong track record for our work in LMN's two core Beneficiary Groups: Special needs (Children and Adults) and Older People. Several hundred performances take place each year, throughout the region.
Examples of our work include:
- a regular series of performances at The Bridgewater Hall in Manchester which are free to access for Children with Special Needs;
- nine weekly residencies in SEN schools throughout Greater Manchester and Merseyside;
- innovative, collaborative projects with local Authorities such as Cheshire West and Chester who lead the way in their approach to provision of high quality music activitiesor adults with disabilities;
- regular participatory performances involving groups of older people in residential homes;
- innovative work with looked after children in Birmingham.
Future plans include "All together now...", a new monthly activity for children with special needs and their families in Birmingham with the aim of bringing families living with challenging circumstances together in a relaxed environment and to create an opportunity for people from a variety of backgrounds to meet new people and to share expertise. Additionally, LMN England: North West aims to work alongside a care home group to provide weekly sessions in Dementia Homes throughout our region.
