Over 60 musicians attend Live Music Now's first UK-wide Musicians' Practice Forum

Live Music Now held the first ever Musicians’ Practice Forum for LMN musicians across the UK on 30 January 2017, supported by Help Musicians UK and the Mayfield Valley Arts Trust.
Over sixty LMN musicians travelled to Cecil Sharp House in London to take part in a day of discussion, training refreshers, networking and performances and a keynote from Youth Music CEO, and LMN alumnus, Matt Griffiths.
Breakout sessions and workshops included:
Dementia Friendly Practice for Musicians with Tim McLachlan, Alzheimer's Society;
Using Makaton and PECS/visual aids in your music sessions and Using Sounds of Intent as a visiting professional musician with Jenny Cooper from The Village School, Brent;
Ideas for using iPads in participatory music making with Michael Dollan, musician and workshop leader;
Tips for using handheld percussion to encourage participation with Ros Hawley
Performances took place throughout the day, showcasing the talent and diversity of musicians on the scheme.
