LMN musicians to perform at the Edinburgh International Festival
Wednesday 12th June 2013
LMN ensembles from across Europe will be performing a series of cafe concerts at this year's Edinburgh International Festival in celebration of Yehudi Menuhin and his close ties to the festival.
In August 2013, ensembles from the UK will perform a concert series alongside musicians from LMN Salzberg, LMN Munich, LMN Dresden, LMN Denmark and LMN Netherlands.
LMN's Founder Chairman Ian Stoutzker and LMN's Director of International Development, Carol Main, will discuss LMN's distinctive work and Menuhin's vision in a pre-performance talk on 29 August.
Violinist Yehudi Menuhin's close ties with the Edinburgh International Festival began in 1948 and he subsequently appeared many times, becoming the Festival's first Honorary President from 1989 until his death in 1999. This informal concert series celebrates the 50th anniversary of his founding of the Yehudi Menuhin School of Music.
Tickets for the concerts can be purchased here: www.eif.co.uk/series/cafeconcerts.
Funding for the concert series has been provided by Mr. Ian Stoutzker. Funding for LMN International Development is provided by Creative Scotland.
