Bio

The Aeolus Duo is comprised of Katie Hole and Daisy Evans who are freelance musicians based in Cardiff, Wales. After completing their postgraduate studies at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, they became Live Music Now UK artists. Whilst on the scheme, they have facilitated various inclusive music-making projects at special needs schools, hospices and hospitals. Daisy has recently completed the Live Music Now ‘Inspire’ fellowship working with Maes Ebbw Special Needs School and Katie is starting her ‘Inspire’ fellowship in September 2021 working with Ysgol Maes Y Coed.

Individually, Katie and Daisy have varied portfolio careers. Katie is the clarinet and saxophone teacher at Blundell’s School, Tiverton, and St Peter’s Prep School, Lympstone. As a clarinettist, Katie has performed with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, the English Symphony Orchestra and various film concerts with Senbla.

Daisy has played in musical theatre shows and orchestras around the UK including as a deputy for the Miss Saigon UK Tour and playing various film soundtracks with the Novello Orchestra/Senbla. As an educator, she is Head of Woodwind for Dean Close St John’s Prep School and an online tutor. Daisy is also completing coaching training with the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and has recently started an MSc in Performance Science at the Royal College of Music.

Interactive music-making within the community is an important part of both Daisy and Katie’s work as musicians. Collectively, their aim is to continue developing their outreach practice, making live music opportunities more accessible to all.
