Originally from Bridgend, South Wales, John has performed on stage at various venues and cities in the UK (London, Bristol, Cardiff) and across the world (USA, Argentina, Australia). Specialising in both original material and the reworking of old favorites, his music can suit all needs and occasions. John performs with both acoustic guitar and piano, as well as loop pedal, which adds to his performance, as well as providing many accessible opportunities to make music with participants of all abilities through songwriting workshops.
A founding member and former front man of Bridgend-based rock/folk group Written In Kings, John launched his solo career in 2015, coming 2nd out of 20k hopefuls in the 2016 Open Mic UK Championships, and winning the award for Best Original Song. He has since secured a management contract with Fat Penguin, and will be touring the UK later in 2017.
John is a proud Ambassador of the Prince’s Trust in Wales, having been a recipient of their support at the start of his career, and joined the coveted Live Music Now scheme in 2015, with whom he has performed for the North Wales International Music Festival, Swansea Music Festival and Gwanwyn Festival in Pembrokeshire.
