Bio
“Formed of four Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama scholars in 2016, Quartet19 is a young, dedicated and highly versatile percussion ensemble. The multi-award winning group are well practised in a vast array of styles and genres.
The quartet stemmed from duo ‘Kitch-In Sync Percussion’ (Jemma Sharp and Luke Baxter) who performed in various UK venues including Symphony Hall, Birmingham. They have since gone from strength to strength performing many festivals and concerts – many in the aid of numerous charities such as Bowel Cancer UK – working with dozens of new composers on expanding the percussion repertoire and delivering workshops to countless different primary and special needs schools across Wales.
Quartet19 take their inspiration as an ensemble from others such as Sandbox Percussion, Line Upon Line Percussion, The Colin Currie Group, Square Peg Round Hole, O Duo, 4-Mality.”
