Live Music Now Count Me In! projects typically run over 10 weeks, with musicians spending half a day a week working with 2-3 classes or groups in a school.
Weeks 1-3: Musicians spend time getting to know pupils’ interests and communication styles, and choosing a piece of music to explore.
Weeks 4-9: Musicians will create individual musical parts with each pupil, tailored to their abilities. The groups will rehearse their piece, with every pupil’s contribution equally valued.
Week 10: Pupils perform their pieces, either informally (for example to another class) or more publicly (for example to an audience of parents and carers).
We can also offer a collaborative approach where musicians will visit the school to initiate a project, then provide teaching staff with resources and ideas to enable them to continue rehearsing with pupils. Musicians can return after several weeks to support final rehearsals and performance. This is particularly suitable for schools which are interested in incorporating Count Me In! into their music curriculum.
