Live Music Now’s special Songs & Scones concert with renowned Donegal trio The Henry Girls took place on Thursday 4 December at Eglinton Community Centre, bringing together families, friends, older residents and children from the local nursery schools for a warm and joyful intergenerational morning.
The Henry Girls’ signature blend of harp, fiddle and accordion, paired with their rich three-part harmonies, filled the hall with warmth and energy. Their folk-rooted songs created an atmosphere that was both mesmerising and deeply uplifting.
As with all Live Music Now’s Songs & Scones events, the morning offered more than a concert: it provided a social space where attendees could share time together over fresh scones, conversation and uplifting music—helping to counter social isolation among older people. The atmosphere in the hall reflected the spirit of the programme, with participants of all ages coming together.
Live Music Now were delighted to welcome Baroness Ruth Anderson of Stoke-on-Trent to this celebration of community, connection, and live music. She joined as part of her visit to Northern Ireland,
