“A really thoughtful and poignant performance which entertained a range of abilities and increased pupils’ positive well-being for the rest of the day.”
Teacher feedback from Musical Mondays special schools concert

Our Musical Mondays series brings performances by Live Music Now’s professional musicians directly to school classrooms. The Special School series is particularly suited to primary age pupils, but open to young people of all ages with additional needs.

This year, we are partnering with music hubs and services across the country. Register your school for Musical Mondays through your local music service.

How to get the most out of Musical Mondays:

  • Test your tech in advance – check you’re running the most up to date version of Zoom.
  • Have a member of staff near the computer during the concert to message the musicians using the Chat.
  • Have percussion instruments to hand if you have them. If you don’t, don’t worry! There are lots of ways to join in using voices, clapping, body percussion…
  • Look out for your post-concert email from Live Music Now with a link to the concert recording and further listening suggestions.
  • Email [email protected] if you have any issues accessing the concert or for any questions.

How does it work?

  • 45 minute concerts via Zoom Webinar (no need for a Zoom account to join the session)
  • Safe to access – only the musicians & Live Music Now host are visible on screen
  • Registered schools receive a recording of the musicians’ performance and a ‘Further Listening’ sheet following each concert
  • Cost effective for Music Education Hubs / Services / Academy Chains – join our National series for primary schools and special schools, or commission your own bespoke Musical Mondays
