Bio

Jambalaya is a lively and engaging band that blends American Appalachian folk music with European influences. The band features Alice Phelps on double bass and vocals, Sam Hodgson on vocals, guitar and bouzouki, Simon Robinson on vocals guitar and banjo, and William Fletcher on percussion and cajon. Jambalaya offers an interactive performance tailored to each audience. Drawing inspiration from traditional American folk songs, English and Irish reels and contemporary bands like Iron & Wine, their performances are full of energy and audience engagement.

Jambalaya originally formed in 2012 under a different name, quickly gaining recognition by supporting bands such as The Staves and touring across Europe. They have played at iconic festivals like Glastonbury, Isle of Wight, and Cropredy Fairport Convention.

Fun fact: On one tour the van was bump-started by folk legend Eliza Carthy!
