Live Music Now NI are delighted to receive funding from the SPAR NI Community Cashback scheme. This support will help us to bring the power of live music to over 600 disabled children, 1,000 primary school children, and 50 older adults and their families, across Northern Ireland in 2025/26. It will also provide crucial support for special school staff and carers working in demanding environments.
Through workshops, performances, and long-term projects, Live Music Now NI aims to create greater access to live music—particularly for children living with disabling barriers and older people who are often excluded.
The funding from SPAR NI will support us to deliver the following projects:
- A Music and Autism Project which will develop children’s personal and social skills through the joy of music-making.
- Participatory Concerts for special schools which will give children a rare opportunity to interact with professional musicians and experience live music in an inclusive format with their peers.
- ‘Musical Mondays’ concerts will bring live music into the classroom over zoom.
- And finally, our Songs and Scones project will continue to bring live music to isolated older people and their carers.
Ultimately, our music programmes promote social inclusion, empathy, and cultural vibrancy, fostering a more connected and supportive community. Our thanks to SPAR NI for the vital support, which will make a real difference to people young and old across Northern Ireland through live music.
