Welsh pianist Aeron Glyn Preston and Plymouth-born mezzo-soprano Charlotte Badham first collaborated in Mid Wales Opera’s production of ‘Hansel and Gretel’, with Charlotte in the role of Hansel and Aeron as répétiteur. Since then, both artists have pursued careers dedicated to both performance and community engagement.
Charlotte, a graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music and recipient of the Opera Holland Park Award for Outstanding Emerging Talent, has performed roles with Opera Holland Park, Buxton Festival Opera, and taken part in Royal Opera House projects for younger audiences. She has extensive experience in community work, leading workshops, delivering music in hospitals, and creating interactive performances for children. Charlotte has worked with both the North West and South West branches of the Live Music Now scheme, bringing live music to audiences who rarely have the opportunity to experience it.
Aeron studied Music at St John’s College, Cambridge, and trained as a répétiteur at the Wales International Academy of Voice and the National Opera Studio in London. As a freelance accompanist and répétiteur, Aeron has worked with numerous opera companies, choirs, and schools, including Grange Park Opera and the London Welsh Male Voice Choir. His community work includes accompanying choirs across Mid Wales and engaging in projects that aim to make classical music accessible to a wider audience.
Together, Charlotte and Aeron are committed to sharing the transformative power of music, ensuring that live music reaches and inspires people of all backgrounds.
