Duo Furioso is recognized for their intensely expressive music making, personal character of playing and exceptional virtuosity. The group consists of prizewinning young cellists Helena Švigelj and Urška Horvat from Slovenia. They started playing together during their postgraduate studies in Belgium in 2013, under the mentorships of David Cohen and Eric Chardon.
They have appeared in venues including Old Royal Naval Chapel in Greenwich (The Chapel of St Peter and St Paul), Judi Dench Theatre, Charlton House, Windsor Old Court, The Omnibus Theatre, Lighthouse (Poole’s Centre for the Arts), Union Hall in Maribor (Slovenia), among others.
Throughout the years, they have been very keen on working with young composers of their generation, commissioning new works and expanding the repertoire for this formation. Their passion for playing chamber music has always been their principal way to express.
Expect an energetic characterful performance, filled with colourful sounds and emotions.
