Flipside Duo is comprised of Daisy Evans (clarinet) and Luke Adams (guitar) who are both graduates of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. They first met whilst performing in musical theatre shows in Cardiff and, after becoming good friends, realised their collective passion for community music work. Subsequently, they joined forces as a duo and have since facilitated interactive music-making sessions in several community settings including special needs school and hospitals.
Individually, Daisy and Luke both have varied freelance careers. Luke is currently guitar 1 on the Pretty Woman UK Tour and has deputised on several other West End/UK Tours including the Lion King, Joseph and his Technicoloured Dreamcoat and Bat Out of Hell. As an educator, Luke has facilitated outreach projects for Disney (Lion King – Lyceum Theatre, London) and has taught guitar 1:1 and in small groups at primary and secondary school level. Daisy also performs regularly in musical theatre shows and orchestral projects. Often, she tours the UK playing film scores with the Novello Orchestra/Senbla; most recent films include The Holiday, Hocus Pocus and The Muppet’s Christmas Carol. Daisy is currently a Live Music Now musician-in-residence at The Hollies autism specialist school, Cardiff, where she leads group and 1:1 music sessions. She is also finishing an MSc in Performance Science at the Royal College of Music, London.
Collectively, Flipside Duo are looking forward to visiting new community settings to run inclusive music-making sessions with people around Wales and beyond!
Luke is also a keen photographer in his spare time and Daisy enjoys doing yoga mindfulness!
