Harpist Glain comes from north Wales and made her mark as a young performer winning the Texaco Young Musician of Wales and being a string finalist in the BBC Young Musician and Royal Over-Seas League competitions.
A regular winner at the National and Urdd Eisteddfodau in Wales, she came second in the Moscow International Harp Competition (junior category) and believes that these experiences to be formative ahead of a professional career in music. Another profile-raising opportunity was gained winning the Bryn Terfel Urdd Scholarship. Having been a member of the National Children’s Orchestra and the National Youth Orchestra GB, Glain has toured with Sinfonia Cymru and appeared as guest soloist with the European Union Chamber Orchestra. She also toured the US as a guest harpist with the Penrhyn Male Voice Choir.
She has won numerous scholarships including the Nansi Richards Scholarship, the Martin Musical Scholarship Fund, and has been supported by the Arts Council of Wales and the Welsh Livery Guild. Having studied at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris where she gained the `Diplome Supérieur d`Exécution`, she is currently studying MA at the Royal Academy of Music.
