MADITRONIQUE is Welsh singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Maddie Jones. Using a range of keyboards, synths and other equipment, and working through Ableton, she makes and performs electronic art pop. Influenced by a range of music from Bowie to jazz, and other artforms, her show is highly visual and engaging.
MADITRONIQUE has been described as both a ‘Welsh musical powerhouse’, and a ‘collision of two supernovas’! Singer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Maddie Jones brings a vibrant mix of maximalist pop, delicate synths, and huge electronic choruses, showcasing her distinctive vocals with flavours of MUNA and Robyn. Picture a world of artsy alt-pop with a rocky edge, boasting killer vocals, a theatrical performance, and tunes that stick with you for days.
Proudly DIY since 2018, MADITRONIQUE has been played on BBC 6music, 1 and 2, frequently been playlisted on BBC Radio Wales, played festivals including Glastonbury and Boomtown, and recently appeared as a session vocalist on the new Bastille/Hans Zimmer single ‘Pompeii MMXXIII’.
‘MADITRONIQUE straddles the line between art pop and bedroom pop. It features the wobbly bass reminiscent of Billie Eilish, but her vocals read more like Lorde or Bjork.’
