Soprano Emily Owen and lutenist James Bramley formed the duo Melismata to share their passion for the extraordinary repertoire for voice and lute. Ranging from intimate settings of reflective poetry to extravagant fantastical stories, raucous dances and operatic arias, their performances bring life to words and music from the Elizabethan times to the present day. James plays a range of plucked instruments and there are always plenty of songs to join in with! The pair met while studying at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, and perform together and with various other ensembles around the UK, Europe and the world.
