Bio

Shelley Musker Turner is a Celtic and Triple harpist from Ceredigion in Wales, who specialises in traditional Celtic folk music from Wales, Scotland and Ireland.

Shelley started playing the harp at the age of seven, and was lucky enough to be taught by professional folk harpist, Harriet Earis. Although she was classically trained, Harriet naturally passed on her love of traditional folk music, and has had a lasting influence on Shelley’s style and musical ambitions.

In 2018, Shelley started her journey as a professional folk harpist and shortly after joined internationally renowned Welsh folk band Calan and has since played gigs across the UK, Europe and the United States. Particular highlights of her career so far have included Calan’s performance with Catrin Finch and the Brittany Symphony Orchestra in Rennes, the St David Days Performance in St Davids Hall in Cardiff with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and the BBC National Chorus of Wales as well as releasing two collaborative tracks on Bryn Terfel’s latest 2024 album ‘Songs of the Sea’, an album that also features Sting.
