Soprano, Theorbo, Archlute, Baroque Guitar, Viola da Gamba, Viol
Claire Ward, Kristiina Watt, Miriam Nohl
Comprising of Claire Ward (soprano), Kristiina Watt (theorbo/archlute/baroque guitar) and Miriam Nohl (viola da gamba/viol), The Portrait Players present chamber and vocal music from the 17th and 18th centuries. They create a variety of sound worlds with different instrumentation depending on the pieces and enjoy introducing audiences to some lesser-known repertoire, always with a focus on the narrative of the songs. In autumn 2023 they joined the Brighton Early Music Festival Live! Scheme and performed at St. Martin in the Fields.
When not making music, the trio all enjoy spending time outdoors and particularly swimming in open water!
