The Taff Duo

The Taff Duo comprise of husband and wife musicians Lowri Thomas on Viola and Tom Taffinder on French Horn. Lowri and Tom both met whilst studying at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and went onto study at the Royal College of Music, London. Individually they have performed with orchestras including the BBC Symphony Orchestra, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, London Philharmonic Orchestra, London Chamber Orchestra, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Welsh National Opera, London Concert Orchestra and Birmingham Royal Ballet. They have also performed on stage with classical and contemporary singers such as Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Michael Ball, Alfie Boe, Paloma Faith, Marc Almond, Boy George and Robbie Williams. Tom has also performed with touring musicals such as Beauty and the Beast, Billy Elliot, Les Mis, Miss Saigon and Sunset Boulevard. Their aim is to bring top quality live music to areas where it is not readily accessible in order to break down the boundaries of classical music. They play a variety of music from pop and rock to classical and operatic pieces. When they’re not playing music they enjoy fishing in their boat ‘Iona’ and picnics on the beach!
