Top Brass Trio is formed of three graduates from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama; Corey Morris (Trumpet), Tom Taffinder (Horn), and Dafydd Thomas (Trombone). This versatile and dynamic group have performed throughout the UK, recently featuring live on BBC Radio 3, and on BBC Songs of Praise. Top Brass Trio are committed to music education and continue to entertain and inspire young audiences nationwide, by breaking down the boundaries of classical music.
Members of the group work in settings such as the National Children’s Orchestra of Great Britain and the RWCMD Junior Conservatoire. As individuals they have worked with orchestras including the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, BBC Concert Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, English National Ballet, London Concert Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, Royal Ballet Sinfonia, and Welsh National Opera. They have also worked on touring shows such as Beauty and the Beast, Billy Elliot, Sunset Boulevard, Miss Saigon, and Matilda. They have also won awards including the McGrenery Chamber Music Prize, June Emerson Wind Ensemble Prize, and the Simon Clarkson Memorial Award. Corey and Dafydd (both born and bread in Wales) along with Tom (originally from Cornwall) are three great friends who enjoy creating, rehearsing and performing music together.
