FURTHER SUPPORT FOR LMN SW'S PROJECT Musical Pathways – An Exploration of Healthy Identities in Young Offenders

Last summer LMN SW was approached by the PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT FOUNDATION to participate in a project which aims to evaluate the economic impact that participating in arts projects may have on health.

The PEF has received funding from DCMS to research the impact of 'arts in health' projects. LMN SW's project 'Musical Pathways' was selected along with Arts & Minds "Arts on Prescription" project, and The Readers Organisation, "Social Inclusion Through Shared Reading" project. Quantitative and qualitative data collected on these projects will be used to assess the economic impact of using arts based therapies.

The Musical Pathways research team from the University of the West of England, (UWE), will provide data for the PEF research team at the London School of Economics who will analyse the findings. This will be an added bonus for the LMN project, as results will be disseminated to policy makers with an added economic cost benefits analysis.
