Songs and Scones Ryedale Fundraiser

A recent supper and concert held at St Peter's Church House in Norton, raised £1500 in support of the popular 'Songs and Scones' project supported by Live Music Now in association with Ryedale Carers Support.

The evening, sponsored by David Barstow and JM Finn, was a resounding success – guests enjoyed a delicious supper prepared by volunteers for LMN's Yorkshire Advisory Committee and Ryedale Carers Support.

Douglas Noble, LMN Strategic Director for Wellbeing, introduced a short film featuring interviews with attendees of Ryedale Songs and Scones, highlighting the beneficial impact and value of the series to local older and isolated residents.

LMN musicians Chloe Saywell (Soprano) and Stephenie Leung (piano) then performed an hour-long programme of music ranging from opera to folk and musical theatre. The musicians shared how performing for the Ryedale Songs and Scones audience has benefitted their own professional development

Deborah Welch Assistant Branch Director for Live Music Now NE commented – 'We are delighted that this evening has been such a success, LMN values partnerships such as the one we have with Ryedale Carers Support which enables us to develop projects such as Songs and Scones and ensure that they benefit those who need them'

The funds raised will allow the programme to continue until the end of 2014.
