UPDATE 23-4-2020 – For the latest on Live Music Now’s response to Covid19 and our Live Music at Home programme, click here.
Dear LMN Family,
When Yehudi Menuhin and Ian Stoutzker created Live Music Now, their vision was to bring live music to people who needed it the most, and help young professional musicians at the start of their careers. Both of these ideas take on even greater significance in the developing Coronavirus situation.
Like many arts organisations, LMN’s usual project delivery is coming to a halt around the country, and we can’t know for how long. Our musicians and staff are urgently exploring different ways to bring live music remotely to older people living in care, the community and hospitals and to schools as they move their instruction online. We would like to thank our very supportive and flexible funders for allowing us to explore remote delivery options.
Our branches will be contacting care settings and schools to discuss their technical readiness for this. We’ll keep you updated as our plans develop. Connections through live music can help ensure social distancing does not mean social isolation.
Yours sincerely
Executive Director, Live Music Now
