LMN North East musicians visit hospice network with funding from The Duke of York’s Community Iniative

In June 2015 LMN North East were invited to apply for funding from The Duke of York’s Community

Initiative Business End. We developed an application which enabled us to create a series of visits to

the hospice network in Yorkshire. We were delighted to be awarded £2500 and LMN musicians have

visited Day Care centres in hospices from Pontefract to Leeds to Elland. As a result of this grant LMN

NE were invited to a lunch and reception at Huddersfield University on the 19 April 2016. HRH The

Duke of York presented Awards to Community Award winners and then met and chatted to all of the

grant and award holders for 2015. He was interested to hear about Live Music Now’s work with

hospices – asking how the music had been received by those who were benefitting from hospice

care.
