Transforming Communities

Miloš joins Live Music Now

International classical guitarist Miloš Karadaglić has joined the team at Live Music Now, to help raise the profile of the work that we do. Julian Lloyd Webber joined us in October, and together we will be working to bring the joy of live music to disadvantaged people and communities all around the UK.

"I am absolutely thrilled to have become an Ambassador for Live Music Now. I originally learned about this wonderful charity while I was a student at the Royal Academy of Music. Having seen the work its musicians do with older people and children in special schools, I was genuinely moved and inspired to take action and help. I'm really excited to be joining forces with this exciting group of people in aid of such a special cause." Miloš Karadaglić

"We are delighted that Miloš has chosen to support Live Music Now. When he approached us, we were moved and delighted by the enthusiasm and understanding that he expressed for our work. I founded LMN to enable the most talented musicians to interact with people in disadvantaged situations, to bring joy and an array of health and social benefits. I am sure that Miloš's contribution will help raise awareness and support for this work, so that we can bring music to even more communities, children and people, all around the country." Ian Stoutzker CBE, Chairman and Co-Founder of Live Music Now

What will Miloš be doing for LMN?

Despite the impressive scale of its work, Live Music Now is not as widely known or as well funded as it should be. This may be because most of its performances take place in private settings with vulnerable people, rather than in the public eye. There is huge potential for LMN and its musicians to reach even more people, in care homes, hospitals, special schools and community centres all around the country. We have ambitious plans to explore many new areas where music can help people and communities, and this is what we hope to achieve with Miloš's help.

Miloš will be an Ambassador for LMN. He will help shine a spotlight on LMN's work, celebrating the joy that live music can bring to people in all sorts of difficult circumstances. We are making plans together to celebrate the Centenary of Yehudi Menuhin's birth in 2016, and Miloš will play a significant part in this; as well as visiting some of the LMN events taking place in schools, care homes, hospitals and more.

"We are all enormously excited that Miloš is joining us at Live Music Now. It is a huge boost to all our volunteers, staff and musicians to know that he has chosen to support us, and a wonderful opportunity to show the world the difference that our music projects make to thousands of older people, children and young people, every year. We're really looking forward to working with Miloš to find new ways to bring the very best live music to people in all walks of life, helping achieve our vision of transforming lives with music".
