The Board of Live Music Now announced today that Sarah Derbyshire, Executive Director of Live Music Now, will be leaving to take up the position of Managing Director of the National Children's Orchestra on 24th September 2012.
Ian Stoutzker, Chairman of Live Music Now, said:
"Sarah has been with Live Music Now for 20 years, initially as the part-time Branch Director for Yorkshire/Lincolnshire, and latterly, as Executive Director. Under her leadership, the organisation has remained true to the guiding principles which Yehudi Menuhin and I held dear when we founded the organisation and in her nine years as Executive Director, Sarah has made a major contribution to LMN which gives us a firm foundation on which to build in the future.
"I congratulate Sarah on her appointment. I know that she will be a great asset to the National Children's Orchestra and we wish her every success in her new role."
Sarah Derbyshire said:
"It has been a great privilege to hold the position of Executive Director at Live Music Now, and, indeed, to be involved in the organisation for so many years. I have experienced many extraordinary moments when the power of music to transform lives has been forcefully demonstrated. Whilst I'm sure that will continue to be the case in my new role, I will undoubtedly miss the inspirational team of LMN staff, trustees and musicians who work tirelessly and with great creativity to bring that about."
Live Music Now is in the process of recruiting a new Executive Director. In the interim, the team continues its invaluable work with musicians and audiences across the UK.
