Live Music Now North East – Auditions for New Musicians

"Live Music Now showed me ways of being and possibilities for myself as a musician that continue to have an impact on me on a daily basis. They led me to a new understanding of my role as a musician, my relationship with my instrument, and with music as an art form.'' LMN alumnus, Julian West, oboe

Calling all musicians!

Looking for regular, paid performances? Live Music Now North East is recruiting new musicians to join our branch.

Founded by Yehudi Menuhin over 38 years ago, Live Music Now is the UK’s leading musician development and outreach charity. Each year we provide more than 2,000 interactive performances for older people in care homes and for children with special educational needs across the UK. We offer paid performance opportunities and a structured training programme for musicians at the start of their professional careers.

LMN's North East branch is looking for soloists and groups from all genres who combine musical excellence with good communication skills and an interest in reaching audiences who would not usually have the opportunity to access live music. The work is varied and rewarding – one day you could be performing on a hospital ward and the next delivering interactive concerts at special schools. We’ll support you to develop the skills you need to engage with a wide range of people and situations and help you kickstart your career.

Auditions will be held on Tuesday 22 March 2016 at Newcastle University and the closing date for applications is Tuesday 9 February.

The North East branch covers the North East of England, Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and the East Midlands. Musicians in any of these areas may apply.
