Emerging Scottish Artists at the Usher Hall

A brand new initiative has arrived at the Usher Hall and will feature Live Music Now Scotland musicians in a showcase of Scotland's young professional music talent.
Culture leader, Deidre Brock said; "It's good to see a focus being placed on young artists, and standing where greats such as Ella Fitzgerald, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa and the Rolling Stones once stood must surely encourage them in their careers and aspirations. This opportunity to enjoy young musicians at a nominal cost will provide many an enjoyable trip to Edinburgh's premier concert hall for our audiences."
All tickets cost £2 and children and students go free.
Performances take place from 2.30pm – 3.15pm and audiences are able to meet artists aftwerwards.

Tuesday 7 September
Pure Brass – The series opens with fanfare and flourish from one of Scotland's favourite brass quintets.
Tuesday 14 September
Phil Gault and Claire Haslin – Young welsh-born baritone Phil Gault appears regularly on stage with Scottish Opera, including as soloist. Today, he and piano accompanist Claire Haslin turn to lieder and some of their favourite settings in an intimate vocal recital.
Tuesday 21 September
Bill Fleming Jazz Quartet – This quartet has a huge repertoire covering all styles and ages of jazz. Hear them play jazz standards, swing, contemporary, be-pop and beyond.
Tuesday 7 December
Christmas with Amici Winds – Get in the Christmas mood with wind quintet Amici Winds, who delight audiences of all ages and backgrounds with their mix of chat, music and general good humour.
Tuesday 11 January
Sax Ecosse – This young, vibrant saxophone quartet have played at festivals all over the world, as well as to a wide range of community audiences through their work with Live Music Now, performing original and specially arranged repertoire for four saxophones.

Go Away Birds – a collaborate extravaganza formed by Catherine Ireton, lead singer of Belle and Sebastian's 'God Help the Girl', guitarist and songwriter Michael John McCarthy and viola player Kim Moore. They are one of the first pop/rock bands to be part of Live Music Now Scotland.
