New funds awarded for working with young people in York

The York Vikings Rotary Club invited Live Music Now’s Assistant Director (North East) Deborah Welch to attend a Rotary meeting and to speak to them about our work. She provided background about how and why the charity was founded and explained the different strands of work our musicians deliver, in special schools, care homes, hospitals and more.

Deborah reported that the Rotarians were most welcoming to her and listened with interest to the presentation which included two short films about our work. At the end of the evening, Mark Inman – President of the York Vikings Rotary Club, presented Deborah with a cheque for £500 to support our future work with SNAPPY.

These funds will go towards a programme of interactive concerts for children with special educational needs in York.

We are all delighted to have received this support and hope to continue to work with the York Vikings in the future.
