All performances take place on Mondays. Concerts are recorded and available to access for 28 days after each performance.

Monday 2 December

Filkin’s Drift

Filkin’s Drift weave together intricate melodies from the folk traditions of their homes, Wales and Gloucestershire. Their music combines the traditional and the contemporary, blending fiddle and guitar with their close vocal harmonies.

Monday 10 February

Edward Robinson and Rachel Fright

Edward Robinson (baritone) and Rachel Fright (piano) have been performing together for 6 years after meeting while studying at The Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester. They love to perform a varied programme of music from musical theatre to folk songs, opera to pop!

Monday 12 May

Chroma Harp Duo

Chroma Harp Duo are constantly on a quest for new and exciting sounds. Harpists Lucy and Becki’s eclectic style defies the traditional harp sound and stereotype. They regularly commission new works from composers and incorporate unusual techniques and objects into their performances (from chopsticks to blueback to castanets!)

How to get the most out of your Musical Mondays:

  • Test your tech in advance, you can access the concerts using the Zoom link from a PC, iPad, or phone.
  • Have a look at the musician’s info in advance on our web page.
  • If your school has any percussion instruments we would encourage you to have them to hand for participation during the concert. If you don’t, then don’t worry you can still clap along or do some body percussion / dancing!
  • Have a member of staff near the computer on the day to ask your questions directly to the musicians using the Q&A.
  • Concerts will be recorded and available to view for 28 days after if you are unable to make the live session.
  • For ideas for follow up activities and to view other recorded music sessions you can access our free library here.
